Sixth annual “Summer in the Winter Party” fundraiser will take place at the HandleBar in the Grove this Saturday, February 21st. It is one of the largest annual fundraising events held at the HandleBar, and all money raised goes to benefit Mission St. Louis – a local non profit focused on bettering educational, life and work opportunities of families in need.

Zack Becker is the founder of the event – “ I hate winter and wanted to do something silly in retaliation against my least favorite season so 6 years ago I bought 20 lbs of burger meat, invited all of my friends, put on a swim suit, opened up my house and lit up the grill.”

Since then, the summer themed party has grown quite a bit, Becker teamed up with Tatyana Telnikova and moved to event to the charity friendly HandleBar, raising over $7000 for Mission St. Louis in the past 3 years!

During “Summer in the Winter”, party goers are asked for a $5 suggested donation at the door to benefit Mission St. Louis. In return they get free burgers grilled on the patio, plenty of drink specials at the bar and great dance music by DJ Nick O. It’s a great party with a great cause.

This Saturday Becker and Telnikova invite you to join the cause, celebrate summer and help Mission St. Louis.
